Dane Stauffer studied, as a teenager, at the famed Minneapolis Children's Theatre Company, graduating to (and from) New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He returned to become one of the Twin Cities most prolific writer/performers, devoted mostly to new works. In addition to a three year stint improvising and writing at Dudley Riggs Brave New Workshop, he's had a dozen plays produced in the Twin Cities at the Jungle, Illusion and Cricket Theatres, and places as far flung as Tampa, San Diego’s Fritz Theatre, and the Edinburgh Fringe, receiving a prized spot on the BBC’s “The Pick of the Fringe.”
He has contributed humor regularly to Minnesota Public Radio's
"The Morning Show" and was featured on KTCA/PBS' Emmy award winning "American Scream: Dudley Rigg's First 30 Years." He is in demand as a spokesperson and performer for corporate events, with a client list including American Express, 3M , Northwest Airlines and Royal Bank of Canada.
He recently returned to America from Venice, Lisbon and the Bahamas after a stint as the cast leader improvising aboard “The Disney Magic’s” inaugural season, and he is currently starring in San Diego’s longest running production of “Triple Espresso” in which he also toured Ireland . Away from the spotlight he also continues to write, record, teach improv and yoga and empowerment through the arts.
He doesn’t write about himself in the third person except when he’s writing a bio, because it should sound like someone else wrote it, don’t you think? |
